Omobolanle (BOLA) Adesiyan is an emerging fashion designer based in Toronto, Ontario. Her line, Qweenfecy Clothing,reflects the vibrancy of her hometown, Lagos, Nigeria, and is designed to bring joy and confidence to people of all shapes and sizes.

“I love to see strong women who love their bodies and want to show that to the world. My designs flow from my imagination with the goal of making people feel comfortable in their own skin and happy wearing whatever they like.”

Omobolanle (BOLA) created an original bonnet design that will be available for sale through the WW website starting Nov 25, the conference day. See photo attached. 

Omobolanle (BOLA) is a graduate of George Brown College in Fashion Techniques and Design having showcased her work in their annual 2019 year-end fashion show event THREADS. She has experience in the essentials of fashion illustration, pattern making, pattern grading and clothing construction, and specializes in swimsuits, handbags, and dresses.

Outside of her design work, Omobolanle is a passionate advocate for the empowerment of Black people and youth, both at home and abroad. She is a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement globally and aims to raise awareness for EndSARS, a series of mass protests against police brutality in Nigeria.

What’s more, Omobolanle strives to inspire and give back to the next generation. She has provided volunteer leadership with the FCJ Refugee Centre by facilitating youth workshops, organizing programs and hosting events. In 2017, she was a member of the Children’s Peace Theatre having performed in the public gala of their flagship program ‘Peace Camp.’ The multi-disciplinary production was developed with support from Lido Pimienta as Visual Arts Director, and addressed social issues such as racism, justice and colonization.
